JARANCARCARBUNDRIUM

Category:    Giant Caterpillar/maggot creature

Origin:      Malaysia, very rare in Britain, available only through trade.

Distinguishing Features:

Jarancarcarbundrium look like a giant fat 10 -13 inches long caterpillar-maggot mix. They grow about 2 1/2 inches fat and round. Their skin colouring is usually blue but when it reproduces it turns yellow. These animals have 4 arms at the front part of their bodies with 4 clawlike fingergs each. Their mouth is full of sharp golden-coloured metallic teeth.

Jarancarcars are hermaphrodite. They reproduce themselfs by spinning a cocoon around their own bodies. Within a month the cocoon swells up to double size. Within the body of the Jarancarcar is growing to double its length but half its width and finally when the proper length has been reached the middle of the caterpillar snaps in two, just where the two tails have formed.

They like to crawl around larger birds and leave their droppings on them which causes a bird's feathers to go dry and frizzy. Birds are allegic to Jarancarcarbundrium droppings.

Nature:

Jarancarcarbundrium are rather tame and peaceful despite their evil facial expressions. They love to be patted on their heads with a finger repeatedly. When they feel content and happy you can hear a giggly-grumbling sound.

Jaran's are very clever copyists. They can copy any kind of facial expression and sometimes even copy something they have seen using items. They can also copy words and sounds and sometimes even short sentences. At times you might think they know what they are doing, but alas they don't. Its very entertaining and therefore makes a nice pet.

Though these creatures are usually peaceful, do not irritate, threaten them! They will bite you heartily. The bite wound will swell up speedily to a tennisball-size lump and last 1-2 days, feeling very uncomfortable. After that it will slowly swell down as a green slimey sticky substance oozes out that stains badly. So watch it! the wound will disappear and have no negative effect thereafter.

Food

Jarancarcarbundrium love to nibble on bananas and coconuts. They will also accept cooked meat-balls and crispy cheese-balls. They also have a liking for sweets.

Special magical featureand use:

The cocoon-thread is a very rare fibre, which has been used a lot to make Invisibility cloaks, the latter of which is not manufactured any more nowadays. Yet, since the thread is fine and silky its used for making upper class finest expensive dress robes and cloaks.

The teeth, which stay stuck or fall out whenever it bites, or when it dies, are melted down to make fine golden metal jewellery that glow in a bright gold in the dark.
