CHARMS

What
is a charm?
A
charm is a spell that enchants an object or person to act, react or behave
against its inherent nature. A summoning charm brings an object to its caster. A
charm might cause something to flash different colours. Charms can even make a
person create a bubble of breathable air around a person’s head. In all cases,
the object or person does not really change, they just behave in unnatural ways
to their true selves.
More
Examples:
Levitation
Charm: makes an object float up in the air, though it normally cannot fly.
Cheering
Charm: turns a person’s mood happy and cheerful, even though the person was
set on being upset, angry or sad.
Tarantallegra
Jinx: makes a person dance, who doesn’t want to dance or even someone who
cannot dance.
Types
of charms:
Most
charms seem to have an inherent positive quality, whereas jinxes, hexes and
curses seem to have a negative quality, even dark magic. However, we must not
forget, that most of the jinxes, hexes and curses are indeed Charms, too. Dark
charms.
Definition
of a Jinx:
A
jinx is a spell/charm with negative effect used mainly for the amusement of the
observer or caster with minor discomfort for the victims. Despite its relative
harmless result, a jinx can still be used in defence very effectively.
Definition
of a hex:
A
hex is a magic spell/charm with negative effect used with the intention of
causing harm, discomfort, and even pain on the victim.
Definition
of a curse:
A
curse is the darkest of the three negative spells/charms. Its cast with the
intention of causing harm, control and terror on the victim. Effective as
defensive spells/charms.
