Physical Description:

A quite tall, curvacious woman of about 5'11". Her eyes are emerald green and set over fair cheekbones. Her long, dark brown hair falls to just past her strong shoulders. Her arms and legs are long and corded with feminine muscles; built from years of dance.

Personality:

Very outgoing, vivacious with seductive charm almost dripping off her.

Strong Mezzo, reach to D comfortably, stretch voice to E

Background/family:

Shaylinn never met her father. He walked out on her mother and her three year older sister Elizabeth, when Miranda (her mother) was about eight months pregnant with Shaylinn. At only nine, Elizabeth was put into hospital for cancer treatment, but passed away a few years later. When Shaylinn turned seventeen and started her senior year of high school, Miranda got into a car accident. She was put into intensive care, only to die shortly after that. Shaylinn stayed strong through school, but worked extra hard and found a well paying job to stay in voice and dance lessons. When Shaylinn turned nineteen, she landed a job with a small dance studio near her hometown of Cochrane. She taught classical ballet until she was twenty two years old.

 

Dance/Vocal qualifications and training:

From the time she was able to form coherent sentences (at about seven) she started vocal lessons. Starting out as a mezzo soprano, her voice deepened slightly with age to a lovely, smooth mezzo soprano with the ease to reach a D comfortably. She continued vocal lessons through puberty. 

In grade nine she started ballet because she'd seen a production of CATS. During her junior (grade eleven) year, her school put on a production of CATS. She tried out and got the part of the outgoing Bombalurina. The next year (the year of her mother's death), Shaylinn landed the part of Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera. All the pain she went through drove her into her character and helped her through the dissastrous period. She went off to teach classical ballet after high school.

Theatre History:

Shaylinn has portrait Bombalurina in a school-production of CATS and in the next year got the part of Christine in the PHANTOM.

She took and still takes private classes in dance and singing. She taught classical ballet for three years. 

 

Playbill:

Canadian Shaylinn Isaacs is pleased to have this chance to perform in the German production of CATS. She has had private tuition to train her voice since she was seven and dance classes since the age of thirteen. Her first appearance on stage (albeit unprofessionally) was in her high school performance of 'High School Musical' in the chorus. Her keen spirit and energetic style landed her a few major parts in more school-productions like We WILL ROCK YOU, CATS where she played the sensuous Bombalurina and finally Christine Daae in 'Phantom of the Opera'. She is proud to make her stage debut portraying the 'femme fatale' character of Bombalurina  in this new German production.
