Distinguishing
Features:
A Fungol has green furry skin, shades of green can change depending on which tree it resides. Ist fur is unusually soft to the touch, inviting children to reach for them to cuddle. They only live on trees and move via branches to another tree. Once dropped off or forced off a tree, it will die unless it finds branches near to haul itself back up onto the tree. The Fungol has three arms and hangs upside down on the branches, at the bottom of it's body, where you'd expect it's head, you find a large circular opening filled with numerous sharp teeth all around. Inside it's mouth there are also 3 glands that produce a sweet alluring fragrance or smell and can change depending on what living being is nearing it. A Fungol can instantly emnate a smell or fragrance based on the likings of that being. In this respect it does not make a diffrence between animals or humans. The purpose of these fragrant-glance or course are to lure it's prey to come close. Once prey is close and positioned underneath the Fungol, it extends its arms at the speed of lighting dropping down onto its prey with its mouth wide open and enveloping it within. The saliva of a Fungol is poisonous, it helps to stun its prey once enveloped and also aids in digesting it.

| Nature:
Its hard to talk about a nature when talking about a Fungol. It is more plant like in this respect. Very much like meat-eating plants. It cannot be called tame nor vicious. It lives to feed and reproduce. Reproduction usually happens in spring-time when two Fungol join at their mouths to become one of double its size. The young then grows within as a green ball of fur. This state lasts 3 months at the end of which the ball is propelled upwards and the young must instantly cling to a branch to survive. The parent-fungols then separate again going each their own way. A dangerous time for wizard-childen is during March - June, when the Fungols have doubled size, and can manage to devour a good sized kid. |
| Food:
Fungols definitely are carnivorous, but mainly feed on all sorts of birds and small - middle mammals, depending on their own size. But watch your toddlers! if ungarded they might be easily lured by their favorite smell. A Fungol might not be able to manage a whole toddler, but cases have shown, that they can envelope most of it, just leaving legs hang out. Rescue came too late, as the toddlers face and top of its head was already digested and left unrecognizable.

Special magical featureand use: The Fur of a Fungol is rather precious. Its super soft and fluffy like Kashmir or Mohair and is used for fine robes as well as for Baby's cuddly toys. The fragrant glands can be milked for about 2 weeks after death of a Fungol and is an important ingredient for Bertie' Botts all flavour beans. The glands when milked release a diffrent fragrant randomly during each new milking, which is possible due to memory cells which are part of the glands. Saliva: the poisonous saliva can be used in Stunning postions.
